Loki laughed quietly. "Midgard can truly be backwards at times, but they are amusing." He nodded to the flower she had just essentially brought back to life. "What does the gardenia symbolize in this language?"
"Young love," she answered after a moment of hesitation. "Secret love."
Loki felt something flutter in his chest.

Arranged marriages are something out of Shakespeare and ancient history. At least that is the thought of Loki Odinson, but his father clearly has other plans. In a political move aimed to unite Vanaheim and Asgard, Loki is betrothed to the youngest daughter of the royal family of the neighboring realm, Vanaheim. Loki, who doesn't even know if he believes in love at all, finds himself in a very odd position, especially because he's met his betrothed before.
