Damon Whitefeather left the Marines a broken man on his last tour in Afghanistan Damon's team was ambushed and kidnapped. He was held captive for a year. Where he was tortured starved and forced to do things he didn't want to do. Eight months have passed since his best friend Demetry saved him from the terrible ordeal. But the fight is far from over. Damon now has to win the war within himself in order to move forward. How can he when he pushed away his family and friends in an attempt to sheild them when in reality he was hurting them. Damon is afraid, he's broken and he doesn't know if he will ever the be the same again. That is until he meets Nadia Summers, the musical therapist assigned to him.
Nadia Summers may look confident on the outside but in side she is dealing with so much pain. She lost her parents within a year of each other and she was manipulated by a man who she thought loved her but in reality used her to take the job that she had as a producer on Broadway. Not only did he steal her job but her music and songs as well. No one believed her when she told them what happened and she was promptly demoted. She decided to quit and go back to school and get her degree in psychology. Now she works as a musical therapist and helps people who suffer from PTSD, depression, bipolar disorder and Anxiety disorder. She loves her job and the people but she doesn't trust anyone. That is until she come face to face with Damon Whitefeather, a broken war veteran who needs her help.
Can Damon and Nadia let go of their pasts for a bright future or will they let old wounds stop them from getting their happily ever after.

(I am about to undergo major edits on the entire story soon. I wrote this when I was 13, and since it is my first story, I owe it the proper creation it deserves. So Sam just stopped saying anything, but when she accidentally bumped into her father he her beat again. So when she comes to school for the fifth time looking all beat up with a swollen lip and a bruised cheek the principal calls the authorities. Because of how she was treated Sam can't stay at a foster home and because she is so scared of people she can't go through the adoption process.
