On May 10th, a girl at my school by the name of Cora, commited suicide due to severe bullying. It hit everyone really hard including me because I saw her in the hallways everyday, she always had a smile on her face. But last night was the candlelit vigil and everything sort of hit me all at once and these verses kinda started to form in my head. So everyone enjoy this poem I wrote in memory of Cora Delille.

COMPLETED, next poetry collection coming soon This is a poetry collection that is both ever updating and ever changing. This collection of poetry isn't exactly traditional or ever a solid complete piece of prose, I am ever adding and changing and morphing them into something I feel is better or is more to what I feel suits the character or the emotion I wrote the poem to embody. That being said, this collection has some works alike the past one that I made a few years back that doesn't quite hold up to standard today. I have poems that I have remade and moved into this collection, so If you have come from the previous collection know that if you recognise the theme it's because of that. I created this intended as both a challenge to write some feelings into something productive as-well as to write some inspired works made for a character I made as I wrote the poem or for a event or piece of media I enjoyed. Nothing is ever solid or at least their perspective will change as I write the poem or rewrite it. The Overshared And Underappreciated Mind Of A Hopeless Romantic
Writing has always been a secret indulgence. It's something I keep to myself most days and it will continue to be something I share with very few people. Bound in these flimsy plastic rings is a brief rundown of me. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Nothing in here is terribly out of the ordinary for a teen girl who grew up before she was supposed to. A girl whose life was never hers to live. A lot of the time, I never know what's going on. I find it helpful to write down what I don't understand to try and make sense of the world around me. Writing these pieces has helped me find peace in my life. This class has proven more cathartic than I thought. That being said, there are some topics that can be sensitive here. I've starred the titles that could be triggering for some in the table of contents. If you are bothered by mentions of: abuse, self harm, or talks about mental health and illnesses, I suggest avoiding the starred titles. Lily Carter's parents died in a car crash leaving her and Laura, girl was depressed long before her parents passed away and with all the problems turning up now, Lily felt more miserable - if that's even possible. With her journey to look for life's purpose and grab the small pinch of HOPE - which is ironically her second name -, will she finally snap at the pressure and finally end it all? or will a small light lit her darkened world of grief and loneliness? * "So you know. The little goth girl who gets bullied is indeed a mess. There's this mess in her head that eats her alive everyday isn't it? What to do now Kaden? Tell the whole neighborhood and recieve an award for taking out a crazy in this world?" I spit like vomit. His eyes warmed up as I finished, "Lily. It isn't like that" "What is it then? People stopped caring... they gave up, why aren't you?" I fought my tears. "Because I feel the need to care. Did Leigh hurt you? Did she hit you?" he finally noticed the unusual redness of my cheek. I don't like the way he told me he needed to care for me. I felt like an obligation, a responsibility that he is carrying and carrying leads to getting tired and when people gets tired, they give up. I don't want them to give up on me. But they will, so it's good not to make them care for me in the first place. "I never needed anyone. I stopped needing anyone before, why start now?" I uttered the words again. Why? There is nothing to fight for. No mama. No papa. No sister to love me. No one. So why would I waste my life and the time of others to fix what is already broken - and someone who doesn't want to be fixed? If I may add. Maybe I gave up. No, scratch that. I gave up a long time ago - when my parents died, my hope and purpose went away with them.Complete
