After the battle at Burren and her assistance in the fight against Jonathan Morgestern, the Clave pardoned Francine of her mistakes and officially declared her an ally to the Nephilim. Her parents had apologized for mistreating her and accepted her into the family. Her friends were safe and happy, and that was all that mattered, for now.
But when Francine goes to LA to visit her parents and meet her little sister for the first time, the Institute is attacked and Francine, her sister and the Blackthorns children barely manage to escape the blow that hit the Los Angeles Conclave, by the hand of none other than Jonathan Morgestern himself.
