"Harlan-", I started but he interrupted me.

"Just let me talk please. Just give me a chance. Get to know me just this night and I promise, if you still don't like me, I'll leave you alone"

I hesitated. It sounded great. But the problem was, from what I had seen, it was not going to be very difficult to like him. And I didn't want any one in my life at the moment.

But... what if I spoke to him, and even if he was the most awesome person I had ever met, I would still tell him that I didn't want him around.

Great. That was what I was going to do.

"Fine. An hour. We can finally have those heart to hearts you were talking 'bout", I said and sat on the only chair in the room.

His only response was a smile, a smile that made me rethink my decision. What the fuck was I doing? I gulped. I guess we were going to find out now.

Nya has been alone all her life, convinced she doesn't need anybody. Besides, being a whore by night and a college student by day is not an easy task. So, she pushes anyone who dares approach her away, until he comes along. He's persistent, everything she does not want and won't give up until she lets him in. And surprisingly enough, she doesn't regret it.

Harlan is the quiet type. He's got the looks, the charisma and the money. But that doesn't mean he doesn't have skeletons of his own in the closet. When he meets Nya, he is fascinated by her, and tries to save her from whatever she needs saving from. But he discovers that not all princesses need a prince to save them. Some conquer on their own.

Both embark on a journey, where they discover each other's secrets. Secrets so dark they could shatter both of their lives.
