The Greatest Tale is an Undertale fanfiction based on The Greatest Showman that celebrates the birth of show business & tells of a visionary boss monster who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation throughout the Underground and the land above.

Asgore Dreemurr is the creator of the Dreemurr and Demuré Circus, married to his loving wife Toriel, and is the adoptive father to two young girls named Frisk and Chara. To those looking in, they believe he comes from a serene and perfect life- after all, how would he be able to gain so many amazing members of such a unique and successful circus, a regal house, and such a caring family?

In fact, his life was (and still can be) quite the opposite. Like everyone else, he has had his ups and downs. But, with a little determination, he accomplished his dreams- and he fought his hardest to hold onto them.

So take a step into the story of the orphaned son of a tailor turned the master of fellow outcasts and the creator of one of the best shows on earth.

NOTE - Both of my notes from my first AxeTale Story, "AxeTale - The Full Story" apply here, this is my own take on the AxeTale AU so there are some differences and the other being I am not big on the Frans part of AxeTale, but it is an important part of it, and they're both of age in this AU, so I will write it accordingly NOTE 2 - This is a prequel to my first AxeTale Book, so it will be connected to that one and lead into the events of The Full Story, you can either read this book first or second and still get the full picture Before The Story of Aliza... There was the story of Frisk... A human woman who fell underground and changed monsterkind forever... When the time came to break the barrier and save monsterkind from their confined prison... She couldn't do it... The only way to do it, was to sacrifice her own soul... And open the barrier that way... But Frisk couldn't bring herself to do it... She was too terrified of death... So she stayed underground with the monsters... With the death of the King to the malicious Flowey, the souls being locked away, Dr. Alphys trying her best to find an alternative way to break the barrier, and Queen Toriel returning to be in power... Frisk has a lot on her plate... Thankfully... She has people who will be beside her along the way... But this isn't just the story of Frisk.... This is the story of her lover... The monster she had dedicated her life to being with.... And how this all proved to become quite difficult for not just these two... But the entirety of monsterkind.... Long ago, two races ruled over the Earth. Humans and monsters. At least, that's the story we all know. There was another race. Technically, they were monsters. Skeleton monsters to be exact. Humans shunned them because they were monsters. Monsters shunned them because humans had skeletons. In retaliation, the skeletons split into two different races. The Surface Skeletons and the Abyss Skeletons. The Surface Skeletons reaches out to both monsters and humans. However, when the war started, they were some of the first monsters attacked and many were killed when they fought with the other monsters. Only a handful were sealed underground but without the Sun to strengthen their bones, the skeletons suffered until they received anonymous help. Very few survived to this point and slowly, they died out. The Royal Scientist at the time and his wife tried to have children. Each time left them severely weakened. Each child dusted until the wife gave up her life to bring a great skeleton into the world. That child is the last of his kind. The Abyss Skeletons shunned all other monsters and humans, considered them all demons. Their society was alike human society long ago. Divided. They believe they are strong and emotions only weaken. The class system was rigid and they possessed a kill or be killed attitude to all other monsters and humans. They thrived underground and ended up building their society in the Underground's own Abyss. It is a shame that only their leader can reclaim their heir from the corruption caused by those demons. Warning: Rated Mature for possible smut and probable gore. I'm sorry I don't know what I'm doing but this ain't for little kids. Also, cover doesn't belong to me. Credit to creator. Found it randomly when I searched up Undertale.

This story is inspired by many other works and may bear some resemblance in certain places. However, I will endeavor to make this story it's own. 2 years ago monsters were released from the underground, ending their centuries-long imprisonment at the hands of ancient humans. Not a soul remains in the underground. But that doesn't mean no one's there. Be it chance or fate, The First Fallen will soon meet an all too curious human as he ventures into the deep beneath. The Reader or [Y/n] is male and Chara is female. I apologize if this bothers you it's just how I've always seen the character. Disclaimer: I don't own these Chara-cters nor do I own Undertale. This is just for fun. This story's rating is [M] for explicit language, violence, suggestive or sexual themes, and fantasy/fictional violence. My lovely reader @NightTheDemon1 told me that the artist of the cover is a Twitter user known as @A___IRAA. Thank you!
