Caleb Quinzy doesn't fit in, or really have any friends.  he's put away, and what's known as 'emo' as the kids at school would say, which as expected isn't great for his social life. His parent threw him and his brothers to the side long ago. all the while Caleb has had to take care of his older and younger brothers, go to school, ^get beat up^, and deal with hardcore bully's. He feels he's good for nothing, 
but when he meets the preppy, pastely, goody two shoes, Christian, new student Oliver Hult, he can't help but feel like he's known this boy his whole life. 
Will their differences drive them apart or bring them closer together?
