I laid on the jungles filthy floor next to an idiot. This idiot had gotten us lost in the middle of nowhere in a thickly dense tropical jungle. There were birds chirping and insects buzzing all around us. We were covered in mud, dirt, and monkey spit. But surprisingly, I couldn't imagine being anywhere else. I didn’t want to be anywhere else. You might be wondering why I enjoyed being in this disgusting state, so let me start from the beginning.

I could feel fear, and my heart racing like a drummer who keeps speeding up the beat. My legs struggled to keep up with the beating if my heart as I sprinted on the jungle's spongy ground. I stopped in the blink of an eye and dove head first into a large and tall group of dark green plants. I don't remember anything. I don't know who to trust. As the trees and its land slowly burn down by he deadly purple acid, a man that was watching from afar shivered at this sight. This has been going on for ages, and the creature hasn't been stopped. If they didn't stop the thing on time, everything they knew, everything they have ever known. Every building ever created, every world that has been generated, would be gone. The man looked towards his companion, or was he, his companion? His friend has been acting a bit strange, acting anything but not himself. The man took a deep breath and sighed. He looked towards the man with a stern face, gripping onto his iron sword. "Are you sure, you aren't, It?" His friend looked back at him, and chuckled coldly in response. "You know me, buddy, I wouldn't let It get to me." On the next day, the man's friend was gone. I was drowning. I knew that. I also knew that the hands around my throat, pushing me deeper into the river water was the cause. What I didn't know was who was drowning me and why. It hurt thinking. It hurt to do anything right now. But I still screamed under the cold water and pushed the hands away as hard as I could. It didn't have much effect. I fought and fought, but I was getting weaker, and colder. The pain was overbearing. I couldn't breathe. It was the worst pain imaginable; and as the hands that were around my neck were forcibly ripped off by some unknown force, I slipped deeper into the depths of the river. My hair was straight above me along with my arms. My eyes were open and the water burned. A darkness started to pull me under, taking the pain away.
