As far as her eyes could see, war ships littered the blood red seas in the dusk. Where the simple fishing villages stood, there were now stockades. The memories of her blood soaked path centuries ago returned. A sole survivor. Except this was not Echizen where her journey first began. The reality was in Hakata bay. She reminisced as the cold wind rushed past her face. She will never flee her new home. Her old homeland across the seas no longer existed. Opening her glowing red eyes, a flaming sword manifested in her hand. Humans were not her concern. Unseen to the mortal eyes were the foreign supernatural beings accompanying the human invaders from the first landed ship. Looking upwards, the rolling thunder roared in the gathering clouds - she knew the signal. The strong winds started to pick up as the sea tidal waves grew larger and larger. Familiar dances of the Yamato dragons within the clouds made her smile. Ame has spoken. "What are you waiting for...," a deep voice whispered gleefully as darkish wisps started taking on human forms in combat gear. "Let's start...", she gripped her sword and charged forth. ~~~ Back to the days when ancient China was known as Kure (呉) and Japan was Yamato (大和), humans transversed the rough seas for cross cultural exchanges. Unknown to the humans, the Kami, also known as gods or deities, as well as supernatural beings, known as yōkai or ayakashi, trailed along invisibly with them from the great continent. Some establishing themselves slowly like their human counterparts as they integrated with native Yamato and Emishi beliefs, while others failed to get any reception and faded out of existence in the new lands.

Hidden deep within the sacred forests of Mount Hiei lies Camp Tsukikage-a sanctuary for children born of the kami, the divine spirits of old Japan. Beneath its moonlit torii gates, demigods, yokai-blooded tricksters, and half-forgotten gods' descendants train to protect the fragile balance between the mortal and spirit worlds. Across the ocean, Jack "Shin" Ryker, a storm-touched boy from the mountains of North Carolina, discovers he is the son of Ryūjin, the Dragon God of the Sea. When his powers spiral out of control, a spectral messenger guides him to Japan, to the one place that can teach him to master the storm within. But the peace of Camp Tsukikage is unraveling. Yokai are turning feral, the Blood Moon Cult rises to awaken ancient serpent gods, and whispers tell of a rift between Amaterasu, Susanoo, and Tsukuyomi-a fracture that could shatter both divine and mortal realms. Now, Jack and his new companions-Haruka, the moonborn strategist; Daichi, the storm warrior; Echo, the bard of spirits; and Kenji, the boy of living paper-must unite as the Tidebreakers, standing between the chaos of the old gods and the fading light of humanity. As the veil thins and ancient powers stir once more... the spirits awaken.
