Suddenly I stopped laughing. "Speaking of Nessie. . ." I glanced around, but the little girl was nowhere to be seen. Ignoring his startled expression, I took off across the clearing to where Mya was teaching swordstaff to one of our young newbies.
"Mya!" I said breathlessly, causing her to almost hit the boy she was working with in the face.
"Yeah," she asked and looked up at me. After a second she dismissed the boy. "Whassup?"
"Have you seen Nessie, the girl who stole your notebook earlier?"
She made a face at the memory. "No. . ."
"Shit!" I snapped, you really shouldn't let me babysit.
