Individuals apart of magical lineage encounter, interact, and experience things from other planes of existence. This tends to be the extent of their abilities. Though most often the powers are simply passed down the bloodline, staying dormant in the individual, sometimes it comes through. These events happen most often with twins: identical twins.
In the Pines bloodline, nothing ever broke this rule. And that is precisely why it was such a shock when it did.
