Shifters are being hunted. Creatures brought from the Abyssa; a planet deep into the stars; after the first world portal opened, and magic leaked through onto the New Earth. Nineteen year old Shanai Nightshade, a half Shifter, half human, has spent almost two decades changing her faces. A human child, an Ulfrim male, a young woman, a tiger, a rabbit. She runs from the Humans, hired by her immortal cousin species, the Ulfrim. After her mother is fatally wounded in a raid of their camp, she is left to raise her neice alone. Shifted and disguised as a human mother and her child, they stow away onto a cargo transporter, and, thanks to their human heritage, their Shifter blood is not noticed. Now deep inside one of the largest Human and Ulfrim cities on the New World, Shanai must decide between the destiny of her neice, or her own path into the future, with the twist of love and the tragedy of fear following her at the heals.

"You're a Shifter." This caught me off-guard. A Shifter? I had heard of them, thieves and criminals that are able to shift to the Other Realm using shadows. Seventeen-year-old Adaria Feur is extremely confused when she wakes up in a room with no memory of how she got there, no memory of the powers everyone keeps telling her she has, and not a clue of how to survive a prestigious academy that is actually training teens into becoming agents for a secret organization called F.E.A.R. However, the thing that worries her most is the pair of amber eyes she keeps seeing in her dreams. They're so beautiful, familiar, warm... but dangerous. And she knows that they hold her whole world, whether she likes it or not.
