Emma is stranded in a time she doesn't belong in. For her, it is 1998, twenty years earlier than where - or when - she should be. And she isn't alone. Darius, who hails from 2998, was brought to the nineties by the same thing that brought Emma from the 2000s - a wristwatch. A wristwatch that only goes backward in time.

Worse, Emma is being chased after by Death himself. According to him, she should've died a death she barely escaped, and now she's disrupted the space-time continuum in a way that can only be reversed if she dies. Her only source of protection is a powerful alley cat hated by others of her kind.

There's no telling how this will end. But if Emma knows one thing, it's this:
She's out of time.
