This story is about a girl who has been through a lot in her life. She deals with Bi-Polar Depression and takes a lot of medications. She tries to handle the trauma she has been through but seeks comfort in medications and alcohol. Going on a path downhill she ends up trying to kill herself. She is then taken to a psych unit, and she starts talking about her life and experiences. She meets people while being in the psych unit that help her heal. While learning to love herself and accept the past she finds herself looking in the mirror wondering if she will ever see anything but pain.

What started off as a good life quickly came apart for Crystal the day she came out to her family that she's transgender. The small North Idaho community she lives in didn't make things any easier but with strong determination and a little help from her sister she found a place to live and even landed a job. However, a late customer needing some gas is about to change her life even more.

To live in another world, a world of peace, of kindness. They say that the best people are the ones who get hurt the most. I am one of them. I hate the way that everyone is so happy in this earth, the way that they can live a good and cheerful life, when I am stuck with the dark depths of depression. In my world, I lacked happiness, friendship, and love. But, something changed. No, someone changed everything. He changed the way I looked at the world. He changed the way I wake up in the morning. And he gave me those three things that I lacked the most.
