Three women. Three generations. All with one thing in common. The struggle for survival, respect and freedom.

Born in the aftermath of Jallianwala massacre, Amira is born to a mother who is constantly disappointed by her child's gender and a father who tries to make up for the harsh mother with his love and care. Amira grows up to become a strong willed and independent woman who decides to make sure her daughters never feel the negligence and coldness she herself suffered from the hands of her disillusioned and self-pittying mother. A struggle that shows itself over three generations of women, beginning its journey in Lahore in the year of 1919, through the 70es and finally in the 21'century evolving around Amiras daughter and granddaughter and their lives in the city of Copenhagen.

This is a novel depicting, describing and respectfully telling the stories of strong women who fought against society notions on gender, hard structures in their homes and undying passion to form their own future while embarking on a journey that begins in Lahore and ends in Europe.
