Soft.
Is all I could think, as the pillows of his face collided with mine. It was soft and sweet, he lingered for a bit and after six seconds he pulled away.
I did not want this moment to end missing the comfort of Carter's lips on mine, holding on to his shoulders and pulling him back. I made the move this time and planted my lips back.
Carter's hands immediately went to my hips as if that is where they belonged. Grasping on to his neck in an instinctive attempt to bring him closer if that was even possible.
The collision of our bodies opened something in me, I was flying up to the clouds soaring through hues of pink and orange. Wanting it to last forever, but the reality of both of us needing to catch our breaths came crashing down.

"How many romance books do you read?" Devin asks me. I shrug. "I like them," I say. I keep browsing, running my fingers along the spines. "So, you like romance then?" he asks me. I nod. "What's your favorite part of a love story?" "I like the very first kiss, but I like the second one even more," I say. I bite my lip and look at him. Oh. My. God. What the hell am I doing? Am I flirting? I think that I'm actually flirting. With Devin. Devin, my best friend. I have officially lost my mind. I should probably stop. But I can't seem to. "Will you grab me that one?" I ask. I point above my head, my back's pressed against the bookcase. He locks his gaze on mine and reaches over me to grab the book I asked for. "Thanks." I don't move and neither does he. Riley and Devin have been best friends forever-since Kindergarten. It's Senior year of high school, now. And it's always been simple, Riley's got his back, he's got hers. But as life goes on Riley can't help but wonder if maybe he's not just her best friend, if she likes him as possibly something more. As her feelings deepen and become something greater it becomes more evident that she's falling, really hard. No matter how hard Riley tries she can't stop falling, she can't stop from loving him. Even if it tears her to pieces or even if it destroys their friendship. Pretty soon Riley is going to have to choose between walking the safe line of friendship or taking the unpaved path of love. Will she risk everything for love?

"The moon's really beautiful, if you think about it," I blurted. "Yeah?" he asked, mild amusement and curiosity mingling in his voice. "Yeah," I confirmed. "It's just- there's something about the moon that's ethereal. I don't really know how to describe it, but it's a constant in life. You can't always see it, but you have to trust that it's out there somewhere. And when you can see it, it's all bright and shiny and overcomes the darkness." I paused, searching for the right words. "I don't know. I guess it's a reminder that there are good things out there, even if you can't see them... And it's cool to think that someone hundreds of miles away is staring at the exact same moon as you. It makes me feel not so alone in life." Turning my head, I saw him staring at me intently with a thoughtful look on his face. "Too deep for a Friday night?" I laughed nervously, feeling my face grow hot. And this was precisely why I didn't go to parties. He shook his head and seemed to snap out of his daze. "It was deep in a good way." *** SHE was quiet & left out. But Monica McCaslin didn't think she would ever be one of those people, would ever have one of those moments. Brought up in a small suburb, with everything she could ever ask for, there wasn't much left for her to want. Monica's ordinary life was to go as such- follow her high school sweetheart to college, graduate, get married, have two kids; the cookie cutter life. White picket fence included. What she did not expect was to meet a dark-haired stranger sitting all alone on a park bench, at that very same school she was to attend with said future husband. After a brief conversation, just a handful of words between them, Monica decides to go on a cross-country road trip with him; putting her faith and future in the hands of a stranger. Thinking she'd soon regret her decision and the life she left behind, she realizes she doesn't at all. Free of expectation and a future that she thought was set in stone, she begins to find the woman she was truly meant to be. State by state, with each border they cross, Monica liberates her true self. π”Ήπ• π• π•œ βžƒ 𝕠𝕗 βžƒ - β„‚π• π•žπ•‘π•π•–π•₯𝕖 - ✬ ✫ ✬ ✫ ✬ ✫ ✬ ✫ ✬ ✫ ✬ ✫ ✬ ✫ ✬ ✫ ✬ ✫ ✬ This is a work of fiction. [COMPLETE] Soz this may be cringe, it was written very long ago A seemingly ordinary, working college girl meets a cool, undeniably sexy boy with millions of followers at his feet. How will their completely different lives allow, or prevent them from getting what they want? Expect some drama, flirty lines, steamy scenes, funny best friends, and perhaps, an overall epic love connection. ~ Carter came around the corner as his eyes darkened with a predatory gaze. Oh no. He took a step forward, minimalizing the distance with every dominating stride, as I froze in my spot. My breath hitched as his arms finally encircled my waist and his eyes locked with mine. In one swift motion, he flipped my body so my back was pressed against his chest and hands gripped the curve of my hips. "What game are you trying to play at Valerie?" he spoke in a husky voice. Goosebumps danced along my skin as his hot breath fanned against the shell of my ear and his fingertips lit a trail of blazing heat along the length of my arm. Mentally shaking myself from the trance of that which is Carter Bryson, I tilted my head towards him and whispered; "One where you'll lose." Quickly escaping his hold on me before the tension became unbearable, I spun on my heel to face him and slowly backed away towards the exit. "Good luck though." I added mischievously. With a smirk and a devilish glint in his eyes that could even give hell a run for its money, he replied; "I'm not a player though, baby. I'm the gamemaker." ~ ❗️Mature content. Skylar Hi, I'm Skylar, but friends call me Sky. Actually, I don't have many of them. I'm shy and rather awkward. I think too much and feel too much, all at once. I'm just a normal girl who goes to the university, and whose life is going to change after meeting...him. Ace Fuck off! I'm not telling you anything about me, you motherfuckers. My life is not your fucking business! ~ *WARNING! This story contains mature content, strong language and self-harm.* "You like it when I say your name, hm?" His voice was so soft. "Skylar" He said and placed a soft kiss on my neck. I closed my eyes and turned my head to the side unconciously, giving him better access. His one hand was still wrapped around my neck and the other one was on my waist, holding me tight. His mouth detached on my neck, giving it gentle kisses. It felt so good that I couldn't move or do anything. I was completely frozen. I never felt like this before. No one has ever had such influence on me. I couldn't pull away from him, even if I wanted to. However, his hand traveled down from my waist and went under my blouse and that was like a bucket of cold water. I opened my eyes and jumped back a little, instantly missing his warm touch. But hello?? I don't know him. And I'm definitely not that kind of girl who makes out with random guys at parties. He opened his mouth with wonder, I was sure he didn't expect such a turn of events. I stepped back, looking at him with my parted lips. "I...uhm...I need to go. M-my friend is probably looking for me." I said quickly, turned around, and left the room, leaving him confused.

"Was that flirting? It kind of felt like flirting. No. Couldn't be. She just thinks the senior girl is cool, like all of my sister's other friends. I was just wishing it was flirting. She's the new girl, she's super cute, and she makes me feel really good about myself. It's normal, I assured myself, but in no way could I let this turn into a crush." Coming out just before her freshman year of high school, Analee didn't have an LGBTQ community to join. In her small town, she WAS the LGBTQ community. When two new girls move into town her senior year, one older, one younger, everything changes for her. It turns out falling in love is harder than she thinks. Even with a steadfast belief in true love, Analee finds navigating romance, friendships, and family something that has to be figured out one day at a time.
