Following the tragic death of his mother in a terrible car accident, a loner, 17 year old boy, Darius, must go about his life living with his mother's twin in a different state. Darius must balance the loss of his mother, the emotional and mental trauma of being with her at the very moment of her death, and his emotionally unstable father who left Darius and his siblings to recover from the loss of his wife. The young teen falls into a deep depression after the loss of his mother and becomes lost in the weeks following her death. His only rays of happiness are his baby sister, Leyva and music, both of which still don't manage to make him any more happy than he has been since his loss. Growing up in a large, middle-class (if not lower) family had its challenges. More than I can account for actually. I had five older sisters and two older brothers. Throw me into the mix and that's a grand total of eight children living under one roof. If my mom hadn't stopped with yours truly, we would have definitely been able to form an entire soccer team with just our family alone. I can't recall much of my childhood and exactly how I interacted with each and every one of my siblings, but I can assure you that it was nowhere near a nice walk through the park. Even until this very day, I still stand by my statement. This is a story about a broken girl who fools the world with one simple action which requires less than ten muscles.
