When sixteen-year-old Jade Smith is invited to a part/sleepover, her friend bring out something "special" for them to try out. Jade is still agitated about a burglary that happened one night and words engraved into the table... What she doesn't realize is she's playing with death and it would be to late by the time she finds out. What she thought was innocent makes her fight for her life before she is taken apart completely. First she has to accept the fact of letting the things she got used to go. Jade has to either risk her life until it ends or put a stop to it. But does she have the will power or is she so intrugued or so far gone that nothing can be done?

But when the enemy, the Foreshadowed somehow get their hands on her, her family secrets crawl out and reveal a power she has no idea existed. The man tells her his name finally but he also reveals a dark horrible secret from his past which traumatized him for years, then she feels like she's actually falling in love with him. He knows everything about her, the reason she became human, the two powers she could have, the truth of how her father died. He begins to protect her life with his own. A mother mysteriously goes missing while using an ouija board, leaving her son Mitch Brown in possession of the board after years of no answer as to where his mother had gone. After the family diner closes, he and a group of friends ask the board for answers to point in the right direction of his mother. Sixteen year old Cora Skye has never been a fan of ouija boards. After working the night shift at the local diner, a friend talks her into staying after-hours to play with one. Chaos is unleashed from the board and Cora hits her head, causing her to fall out of consciousness. Once she awakens and they finish the game, everything has changed. Cora begins to see and hear things that she wasn't capable of before. One thing that she quickly comes to learn: the game is never really over. Will her newfound senses help Mitch find his mother or will the voices get the best of her?
