"Hanna Bowler. Mark Davidson. Lunna Travis." They are, supposedly, lucky. They have been Chosen. For what? They don't know. But they do know that it isn't good. In another group, three more names are called. "Kris Andersen. Damien Nolan. Caralyn Settler." They have also been Chosen. In three other groups, more names are called. Luke Settler stands and patiently waits. His name is not called, but then he hears a name from the first group. "Caralyn Settler." His little sister, only ten years old. He sits still, knowing that starting another uprising wouldn't be a good idea. Aaron Heller stands and waits as well. They are not affected by this Choosing, or at least they don't think they are. Until they are approached by Luke Settler. All Lunna Travis knows is that her name was called. She calmly walkes to the officials, not knowing what is to become of her. All of these people are, in one way or another, deeply affected by the Choosing. But what exactly is the Choosing?

I honestly didn't realize how broken I was. I just figured that if I shut all my feelings out that they would go away. They didn't. They came back strong as ever. And I did the worst thing that I could do. I let my feelings get the best of me. My daddy told me to never let anyone walk over me. And yet that is exactly what everybody does. It's like he knew that this was gonna happen like he wanted me to be prepared. Too bad I didn't listen. And now no one's here to help me. And then the new kid comes along. Jake Johnson. He caught my eye the first time I saw him. I can look at him and tell that he had a story. And I wanted to know it. He helped me in a way that I thought nobody else could. He was there for me when no one else was . Now it's my turn, to be there for him. I will not let my feelings or emotions get in the way of me helping someone that I love. Join me, Charlie Campbell, on my ride through a lot of different emotions but overall Finding who you belong with. #846 in Short Story. 7/22/17 #150 in Short Story. 8/3/17 This is my first story!
