Adellia has grown up surrounded by rules and regulations. She's been prepped from birth to eventually reside in the throne that has been in her family for what feels like forever. Unfortunately, her destiny is quickly approaching. Her father is dead, and her mother has only a couple of months to live according to doctors. All eyes in the castle, and kingdom, turn to Adellia expecting her to step into her mother's shoes. However, both women aren't ready to give up their lives just yet. Wanting to learn more about her kingdom, and the people of it, before she is forced into an arranged marriage and the throne for the rest of her life, Adellia ventures out into the kingdom to do just that.

While there, Adellia meets a young blacksmith by the name of Faron and gets sucked into a plot that goes against her, and her mother's wishes.

Will she be able to venture into the unknown, and survive out of the watchful eye of the palace?

This book has sexual reference and mentions of things that could possibly be triggering to some - e.g. young motherhood and loss of a parent.

This work is usually split into two parts, but I have decided to take down the second part, and consider the first part, one book for now, so I can work on the second. When the second part/book has been finished, I'll decide whether I like it as one book or to reincorporate the rest of the book to make it one.

||WATTY 2021 SHORTLIST|| Ex-Princess-Bride wants to marry her beloved Dragon, but when a curse threatens their happily ever after, they are left racing against time to break the spell before it breaks their hearts. *** Elvira, a princess who gave up her rights to the crown to go on adventures and do good, falls in love with a dragon knight Ferrante. Alas, copious amounts of lightning bolts threaten to keep Elvira and Ferrante apart forever, to protect the rights of her long-forgotten, dead-beat betrothed. Who knew that magic-sealed marriage contracts don't have an expiration date when the royals are involved? With romance on the line, Elvira immediately sets out in search of her betrothed to wed him, bed him and be done with him. It would have been simple, except her runaway prince had since become a highway robber and nobody knows where he might be hiding. Ferrante, infuriated with Elvira's quest to save their nuptials, takes on the ancient Arcane Guild to annul the contract. More brawn than brains, the fine print is not his forte, and the dangers of sparring with nimble minds are far greater than he had seen in his nightmares. Meanwhile, a sinister puppet-master also has designs on Elvira... So, the race to the altar is on! Age range I think is NA to adult, but it's smut-free. If you see this book on any other site, they'd stolen it. If they're charging you for it, this is the best and free version. Please read it on W-A-T-T-pad. First Published: April 29, 2020
The Dark Heir (SHORTLIST - Open Novella Contest 2019) by HM_Braverman

**Featured on DARK FANTASY and ADULT FICTION reading lists** WARNING: EATING OR DRINKING WHILE READING THIS STORY IS HIGHLY INADVISABLE. Once Upon A Time, Good Omens, Monty Python, and Arrested Development had a back-alley three-way and birthed a fairytale. Gerald wasn't supposed to be stuck living seven centuries in the future. He definitely wasn't supposed to be "mentoring" The Dark Lord's progeny in the hopes that she would decide to save the world rather than destroy it. In fact, he wasn't even supposed to be named Gerald (the name of every other male in his family for three hundred years), because everyone assumed a weak-chinned, balding, forgettable man, who was just a magician, could never be who Geraldo The Foreshadower prophesied. But that's what assuming gets you, and here he was saddled with a fate he never asked for, in a time he didn't know, surrounded by people he didn't want to like, and he was out of Firewine AGAIN! The Dark Heir is a darkly satirical tale of assumptions, anti-heroes, and apocalypses, where the road to hell is actually a themed water-park slide covered in slightly less urine than a real one. It drops literary and film references faster than an NYC socialite drops names, and promises endless laughs - including, but not limited to, sad chuckles, guffaws, uncontrollable giggles at inappropriate moments, brays, barks, cackles, snorts, cachinnations, and the occasional howl (though that may be the Welsh Werewolves showing up unannounced). Consider yourself warned... Reviews: "Completely and adorably bonkers," says @floranocturna "Hilarious in every way. Even when I cringed, I laughed," says @LadySapphire2018 Winner of The Trident Awards
