My heart broke when I saw him, crouched beside his bed, with his head tucked between his knees as he sobbed. My heart ached to know and understand exactly how he was feeling. To feel hopeless, wanting someone to tell you it's okay, someone to hold you tightly while you cried and to finally not feel like a burden. To feel alone, even though the people you love are surrounding you... I understood. It hurt to see him like this, so much. He doesn't deserve to feel this way. No one ever does, but especially not him.
The floorboard creaked under my feet and his head shot up, his watery red eyes met my own.
