Thrown into the world of the night, Elizabeth doesn't understand a lot of things, especially how to be an Angel, or how to hold on to her own crown that seems to be slipping, making the appeal to marry Lazarus even more tempting, if only it weren't for Dario, the very enchanting vampire she met last year.
On top of everything else there's a revolution brewing amongst the Mythical creatures, and it's against her.
Elizabeth and her friends need to stand up for themselves, or else they're going to be crushed under the weight of the world.

My eyes finally adjusted and I got a good look at the guy. Holy shit, he was HOT. He rivaled Lazarus, and that's saying a lot. My skinny arms-which had always refused to gain any definition no matter how hard I exercised-were lined with flat, wiry muscles. My bony shoulders were now curved and smooth. My scrawny legs were toned like a dancer. I reached down and lifted my shirt, revealing two subtle lines running vertically down my perfectly flat stomach, hinting at the rock-hard abs underneath.
