At a young age, Monique watches her brother die in cold blood. She vows that as long as she's still living, she will seek vengeance for him no matter what it takes.
After a couple months her parents decided to adopt a teenage boy (who is 19 years of age) to fill that empty spot in their lives. But little does she know that her adopted brother might have had something to do with her brothers death.
Years went by as the whole family struggled coming to grips with his death. Her mom secretly began to turn to drugs. Her father, on the other hand, doesn't give any sign of emotions towards his lost son and her father becomes an abusive alcoholic. Meanwhile, school isn't making her life any easier.
