Aria Djvorak used to be a happy girl, despite the atrocities that were going on in her life. She didn't care about her mother's drug addiction or that her father had skipped town with his secretary.

Her life used to be okay. That is until she finally met Travis, the school bad boy. One night when she and best friend Micah go out drinking, they bump into him. Something about him is different, wrong... and powerful.

Aria is raped and retreats into herself as she threatens Travis with a court case. Unable to face him, she goes to live with her Grandpapa John and cousin Annabelle, in the same neighborhood as two of her old childhood friends, Loki and Zantos, the rebellious boys of her mother's old friends.
