The world as we know it...is changeing,space travel? on the verge of happening. 

The first shuttle to populate Mars leaves in a few days,meaning we'll finally have populated the entire milky way,hoverboards have been out since 2032; Floating cars were deemed unsafe so we just stick to more efficient cars.

Aliens? Made contact with us in 2056,we trade often and some have gone to live at the far off planets to study.

Humans are now number 9 in the universal food chain...meaning we're pretty cool to aliens.

My problem with this? I've got a feeling we're more than cool to aliens...*we're a threat* and threats...are most often shot down by the strong.

And I'm not the only one that's scared.

This wasn't just another mission-it was a call to action against the most pervasive terrorist group in history. I'm regarded as the best spacecraft pilot, but this mission will challenge everything I've ever known. But now I face a choice more difficult than any before: let my friends-who are like a family for me-die or kill a family member who is nothing more than a stranger to me. Will I complete the mission? I am not from this planet. Hell, I am technically not from this galaxy. However, that doesn't change the fact I am here now, and my job is to save what I can on this forsaken planet and what's left of its inhabitants. The problem is that not everyone wants to be saved. I know what you're thinking. You can't save those who don't want to be saved. I bloody well agree. The ones who sent me don't care what you or I think, though. All they care about is numbers. They need a certain success rate to continue to get funding for their "expeditions" and "peacekeeping" efforts. I use both terms loosely here. However, that's what they put on their records, and it's what sounds good and looks suitable to their investors. So this is the way it's going to be. So be it!
