Adron and Soron are what most call Halves. They love to explore the Great Wall -- a series of layers and passages that separates the valley. But, one day, the brothers wander too far. Framed as spies, how will they escape the clutches of the humans?

General Lucian Harloch worked hard for his rank. Set up on the north side of what the Halves call the Great Wall, he and his men are expected to keep the abominations from getting too close to civilization. He has already lost three spies to the merciless beasts -- but what is this? Two small Halves sneaking around on the north side? Perhaps a trade can be organized . . .
