"I had to do that," he muttered, a hint of uncertainty hidden behind his confident voice, "at least once."

That's what suprised me. The 'at least once' part, because you don't just want to kiss someone for no reason, especially not your best friend.

He takes one last long look at me, and I fight the urge to say 'take a picture, it'll last longer'. He turns away, and walks leisurely into the school, leaving me standing there. Completely stunned, my mind considering that maybe my social sciences wasn't as important to me at this very moment, I turn away and walk opposite of the giant building.
