Ada, a trusted palace maid in Alaocha, is betrayed by the man she loves, who manipulates her into revealing the location of the Ikenga, the kingdom's sacred mantle of leadership. With the relic stolen, the kingdom is left defenseless, and Ada is branded a traitor and exiled. Determined to restore her honor, she embarks on a journey to reclaim the Ikenga, only to uncover a shocking truth-she is the rightful heir to the throne, a position denied to her by tradition.
Meanwhile, across the sea, her mother, Eri, a once-mighty warrior queen, is captured and taken to Britain as a slave. There, she encounters Christianity, a faith that challenges the ancient traditions of her homeland. Returning with this new belief, Eri finds herself at odds with Alaocha's customs, setting the stage for a fierce ideological and spiritual battle.
As invaders threaten the kingdom and war looms, Ada faces impossible choices-will she fight to reclaim her birthright, embrace her mother's newfound faith, or allow love to cloud her judgment once again?
Ada (Whispers of the Anointed) is a gripping historical fantasy of betrayal, destiny, and the clash between tradition and faith.
