"What are doing here?" The first thing said to twins, Ansley and Asher Renyolds, when they showed up at two separate boarding schools about a million miles away from one another and half way across the world from their home. "Miss Reynolds, where are you supposed to be?" Mr. Taylors, the head of Morrison Boys Institution. "Madam Patterson's School For Girls in London." Ansley answered. "I see, well I hope you realize how far away that is. Do you know how this happened?" he asked. "Our parents must have put us on the wrong plane. What am I supposed to do, where am I supposed to go?" she yelled in frustration. "I don't know, but I will call your parents and the school and inform of the mistake and we will do our best to fix the problem." he explained. "Mr.Reynolds, I just recieved a phone call from the head administrator, Mr.Taylors, at Morrison Boys Institution in Sydney. He informed me of your sisters where abouts and what - needs to be done to, uh, fix the problem." Mrs. Finish, the principle of Madam Patterson's School For Girls, said. The forced tone of her voice brought curiosity into Asher's 15 year old brain. "Enlighten me." he said simply, kicking his feet up onto the desk in front of him and leaning back in his chair, hands behind his head. "It seems," Mrs.Finish began, using a pencil to push the boys large converse shoes off of her wooden desk. "That you will stay and study here where as Miss Reynolds will stay there. It seems that any other option is far too complicated and expensive for either of the schools or your parents. I'm sorry, but there is no longer any other option." she said. Oh dear. Who will take this change the hardest? Ansley and Asher? The other people at the schools? The administrators? What could possibly go wrong with this plan? Well, a lot more than you could possibly imagine. copyright May 16, 2014 -balletflats21

Raised as Hunters in a hidden counterinsurgency society in the late nineteenth century, nineteen year old Welsh twins Carys and Cadeyrn Llewelyn have led brutal, unforgiving lives filled with heartbreak and pain. As the only female Hunter, Carys has proven her place among the males, but not without a terrible price. And while Carys is as self-sacrificing as ever, it's up to Cadeyrn to make sure he's there to pick up the pieces. When a mysterious Hunter from London beckons the twins and their friends to the city to eliminate a target, self discoveries are made, relationships are tested, and wounds are reopened. _____ "Cadeyrn, everything we have been through, everything we have sacrificed has come down to this moment. Steamboats and trains make travel exponentially faster. Industry has become the crown jewel of the country. Stringent moral codes are disintegrating. Everything that we used to take for granted has been distorted. Amidst all of this revolution, I see women restlessly gazing out their windows. They want a share of this exciting, new world. I have been privileged to have access to it and I do not want to be the only one...but I do not know if I am the right person to bring about this change," Carys whispered dejectedly. Cadeyrn sat on Carys's bed and enveloped her in a brotherly embrace. "Do not say such things about yourself. You are as strong and determined as Mam was." Carys gave Cadeyrn a watery smile and he returned to his own bed. Carys turned her body around so that she was facing the window. The curtains were pulled aside so she could see the stars littering the night sky. The gentle slopes of the hills stretched as far as the eye could see and the darkened shadow of the village was a speck off in the distance. At this breathtaking sight, Carys finally let the tears fall. Each teardrop held her fears, her anger, and her sadness. Why would one need to find refuge in the shadows if there is nothing to hide? Only in a perfect world.
