As crônicas são apresentadas por uma personagem chamada "Maria Scarlet",  um espírito vagante que observa atentamente as mudanças sociais e comportamentais contemporâneas e analisa sob uma ótica poética e, por vezes, sarcástica, os conflitos psicológicos passados na sociedade atual.

Sobre a Maria Scarlet:

Maria Eugênea Vasquez de Bragança, nasceu na Espanha no dia 13 de setembro de 1750, em uma família rica, de fé católica ortodoxa. Aos 14 anos foi explusa de casa, acusada de pecadora por ter sido flagrada em uma cena de sexo com o próprio tio. Aos 17 anos se mudou para Holanda e passou a chamar-se Maria Scarlet. Lá iniciou uma nova era de luxo e promiscuidade, onde criou o mais luxuoso e famoso bordel do bairro Red Light, o Bordel Scarlet. Teve uma única filha, que a chamou de Maria Luz. Viveu até os 58 anos de idade, vítima de tuberculose, contraída de um de seus clientes.

 Até hoje, Maria Scarlet habita o imaginário masculino e a admiração de mulheres que sonham em um dia ser como ela: ousada, sarcástica e contemporânea ao seu tempo...All Rights Reserved
