My entry for National Geographic #planetorplastic contest.
I believe in reincarnation and a proven fact that the impact of every action inspires an equal an opposite reaction from the universe. My short story is based on these principles.
When we talk about saving the planet, it feels more an act of charity than self preservation. And we need to understand that it is solely self preservation. When my acts come to bite me in the behind, I am quickest to fix them. Hope my story puts forth this point well and clear.

Someone like you. You believe in me. Why? Where did you get that ring? Why does it match mine? How do I even remember something like that? I look familiar too? Are you sure? From where? Come with me we'll find out together. Let's be best friends, now let's be together forever. Never leave me again not that you had the choice. I died and came back it sounds like but you this is what you're made for. Protecting them believing in things even though you're a teenager now. But you keep believing why? I guess that's true even if you "grow up" in age you never have to really grow up as a human. There's something about you you're special to me to us. I won't let him hurt you.

Inferni
I am the outcast, being different from the rest of my fellow orphans. I am a thief, stealing food and clothing from those that had more than me and a few other outcasted orphans. I am a protector, protecting the outcasts by letting myself go weak. I have to be this huge person to protect the supernatural and humans, but I know I am far too weak. I know that I have to try, but I can't help but wonder if someone would have been a better choice than I. I will try my best to keep on fighting until the end of time. Because I am Inferni.
HOOK
According to a story from the far reaches of the East, a man was walking alone at night along a steep path near a mountain peak. The sky was covered with thick clouds. It was pitch black. Suddenly, he stumbled, lost his footing and fell into the void. Instinctively, he reached out his hand and managed to grab onto a thick branch that extended out from the edge of the cliff. He called for help, but the only response was his own voice echoing through the ravine. There was no one there to hear him. A few hours later, he felt his strength abandoning him. His anguish grew. When he could hold on no more, the first light of dawn began to dissolve the dense darkness. He looked down and laughed as he saw that just a few inches below his feet, there was a large, flat rock. He could have let go of the branch at any time during the night and stood on it. But he would have done so without knowing. Without being certain. You have the choice to see either the good or the bad as you choose one of these aspects you will gravitate in that direction in which you choose. The book of life: Evolution of my self through incarnation 33
I am not a guy who likes to talk about his self, but the purpose of this biography is not to present my self to other people. There is a good possibility I am going to die around the age of 50 and therefor incarnate once more on the surface on Earth (living up to the age of ≈35). Thus, I am writing this primarily for my self in that person, so that person can recognize its self in this person and learn more about the past of its self. all of the light went out. i could see the light but i could never walk towards it. i loved the feel of the sun...but i was never allowed in it. i wouldnt melt like the others, and i wouldnt sparkle like the others and i would criple in pain. i would fight it...but i didnt want to hurt those closest to me, thats why i didnt let him in. we were so close, they all thought that we were together...even he was confused. i was confused...i cannot afford to hurt him. he means so much to me and yet i have only known him for such a little time. i guess to escape the darkness...all i need to do is open my eyes.Complete
