'No! No! No! This is not happening!' Ronan panicked as he spoke to me through our mate bond. I could hear the defeat in his voice as I was taken further and further away from him.
'I want you to know that I love you, Ronan. These past few months have been the happiest of my life. I only wished I could have returned the favor to you.'
'Don't say it like you're saying goodbye.' He was in full distraught now. Ronan's voice was breathy and cracked as he spoke to me.
'I'm not. I know you'll find me again.'

Suddenly, I was alone.
The mate bond was a funny thing. It had its limits. The bond worked like a rubber band.
