To Warm Frozen Fingers // A Short Story Collection by MidnightBeast1098

I like to write. As you may be able to tell. I haven't been very good at writing lately. As you may also have been able to tell. That's why I've decided to write a short story collection. The stories won't interlink, some may vary wildly and you might even wonder if they were written by the same person (the answer is yes). Overall, I'm aiming to write 23 stories, which was one per day for 23 days but I failed at that (*seethes* college work...) so now I'm just aiming to finish it before winter is over! The stories won't be very long - I'm only allowed to write for 10 minutes per story, just to get me going again (and literally warm my fingers, I get really really cold fingers for some reason) and the most I've ever written in that time is around 500 words. Hey guys! So this is my first book, so you're gonna encounter a 'little' bit of gramatical errors here and there. So basically, this book, hence the name, is a compilation of short stories. Tammy's Great Fall- A poem about a fateful day at the circus. Ma- An assassin finishing his shift. What if- What if the world were to end in 10 days? Point of View- Three point of views at a wedding. Perfect- A woman visits her neighbors house. Finding Peace- A man's final minutes. On the Theory of Rain and Mars- A girls dreams and her life on Mars. From a simple conversation happening between two Filipina astronauts, to an individual confessing his true feelings to the person he loves, to a failed missing person's investigation and the lover searching for his whereabouts in the Philippines, to a story about the woeful memories surrounding a rabbit plushie in the United Kingdom; a conversation happening between people at night with a campfire, about spirits and passion, in Norway; to a dying animal's thoughts about the person that saved it, to the letters given to the person that matters to one's life, to a man trapped in a cursed town and more. These 30 stories compiled in the months of August 2023 - February 2024, made in handwritten yellow pad papers and shared to the world for the first time shows that there are ways we find to connect with others through the stories we tell to one another. Stories dealing with the loss of a loved one, the horrors of reality, about the challenges faced in life, a longing for the person we loved, the laughter shared in-between, the hopes we treasure for tomorrow and beyond and of the little interactions that happen in life. It is through the attachments, love, support, consistency, determination and dreams do we find the will to push through and accomplish what needs to be done that is set out for us to tackle. Goals and art; sacrifices made and understood; and the belief that chasing the dream is all worth it and that it helps us connect and inspire us to do what matters the most.
