My eyes flashed over to my Tarot card deck sitting on my night stand, I felt weak, but I flipped my index finger to turn over the golden card on the top of the deck. It was one of my favorites, the "Wheel of Fortune Card,"which shimmered in gold and dark blue. There was a large, golden dial inscribed on it. It meant change was coming, I thought, my pink lips curled into a curious smile.
That would make sense, I thought, since October 31st is right around the corner. I exhaled in deeply concentrating on having the card fly into my hand. I had to be careful, I thought, Don't need another paper cut from these cards. That's another thing they never talk about it the movies or shows.
I smile and shake my head laughing,
"If only mortals knew what I could do."
