Alyss was raised in a walled compound, cared for by the Nandroids that run it. She's never experienced anything outside the complex. Well, except for that small square of sky above the high walls of the exercise yard.
In just two months, Alyss will turn eighteen and her consciousness will be transferred into an android. Such is the way of the Society: giving its citizens bodies that will never age or decay.
There's just one problem: a mysterious voice in an empty corridor that warns Alyss things are not what they seem.

Sanctuary. That was what the quarantine dome was supposed to be, a place of refuge from the N-Gel and the deadly Neoplague they unleashed on the world. But we aren't safe here. It's strange to think there was once a past where humans didn't have androids, they are everywhere now. Humanity is far more advanced than what you and I think: androids have human faces but aren't alive they are simple machines. Right?
