"You haven't told her?"
"It's better off she don't know squat. You got a problem with that?" Luke says.
"She's going to find out one way or another. I think it would be best if she heard it from you first," I say.
"She ain't gonna find out," Luke repeats. "You know how devastated she would be? She'd never be the same. I can't loose her-"
Morgan Brooks is a senior at Eastwood high School. At school, she is a perfect straight A student; however, at home is another story. She goes the annual summer bash at Spencer King's mansion and meets an old friend with bad intentions. That night she wakes up at home in nothing but an unfamiliar T-shirt and a very disappointed step-brother. That night they get kicked out of their home and are forced to live on their own by their deadbeat father/step-father.
The next day is the first day of school and the murder of a fellow classmate awaits. Morgan Brooks witnesses the death of her dear friend and threatens to snitch. The next morning she finds herself kidnapped by the biggest, most baddest gang in Eastwood. After a foolish attempt to escape with her new found friend, she gets caught. They turn her friend over to the cops and frame him for the murder of-living-Morgan Brooks.
Will she ever escape, or will she stay with her forbidden lover, King? Read the book to find out.
