Alex is a mystery. He is quite at school, but if he is around family or his bestfriend Zack he is happy as can be.
But that is because after his brothers death he pretends too be happy just to show his family he is okay.
Zack is his bestfriend since they were young. When Zacks parents found out what had happened to Alex and that h e was moving. They decided to move along with the Gaskarths to help them. Saddly, Zacks place was a bit further than Alex's was so he will be going to a differnt school.
Jack, Jack's dad died and lives with his sister May and his mom. He is happy but most people mistaken him as a clown more then a person. When actully he is smart and is wise with words.
But when he tries to talk to the new boy, he seems like a asshole. But one day Jack hears someone singing at a grave site. He hears the real lullbie.

On the first day of 8th grade Jack Barakat notices the new kid, soon to be known as no other than Alex Gaskarth. By just one glance at him from the crowded school hallway, Jack has come to the conclusion that he hates him already. When Jack collapses during his band, All Time Low's show; he's quickly rushed into hospital. Jack's bandmates Rian, Zack and Alex are told that Jack has stage four cancer and the doctors are surprised it has gone unnoticed for so long. The four boys decide to spend Jack's final days on the road, travelling to all the places that holds memories of their friendship. Alex has been in love with the sick boy for as long as he can remember. After some convincing, Alex decides it's best to tell Jack how he feels before its too late but does someone else beat him to the chase? But sadly, one day their fun will have to come to an end...
