Violet has been dancing for her whole life. She danced her way out of her old neighbourhood. She danced her parents out of that neighbourhood too. She danced her failed friendships and that one boy she preferred not to think about. Violet danced her last breakup off.
Violet is tired of getting hurt and having to dance to forget because she used to dance to fly and to be free so when Ruby Rose, the new urban teacher, appears she is having none of it and it doesn't matter how good Ruby dances, she will have to do more than that to get to her. She would have to build a home from the rubble.
