Tainted, one possessing a strain or an ability unexplainable by science. Surviving the epidemic wasn't a miracle, it was a curse.
The orphans housed within the Arch orphanage are considered a danger to society, for every one of them is tainted. Kept under constant surveillance and strict rules, the only way out for these individuals is to be "shipped out".
At least, that's what the kids call it. Once a month it is announced that one or two orphans will be leaving. But no one knows for sure where they go. Are they killed? Placed with families? Sent to the front lines to be used as weapons? The possibilities are as endless as the children's imaginations.
Kenyon has lived here for the last five years, and all she wants to do is return to the home she's lost.
When the announcement comes she and her friends will be shipped out she is unsure how to feel. Kenyon quickly discovers the world is a much more dangerous place then she remembers. If she wants to reach her goals she must stay alive; but in order to do that she must keep her strain and its true nature, a secret.

Rex Salzar has cured every one of the harmful nanites and he alone remains with his Evo powers. An 'Evo' stands for Exponentially Variegated Organism. It's when "nanites" (which are small as cells but are little machines) randomly activate inside their hosts (human or animal) giving them powerful abilities. But it usually mutates them into monsters that are most times, mindless and destructive. But him being an exception as he retains his sanity and human form only using his ability to turn parts of his body (arms and feet) into various machines in self-defense against other Evos. Making him even more special is that he can cure other Evos. This story takes place after he has cured the world of that plight as he worked along with an organization called Providence. Rex now questions the need for him to be a hero anymore. He knew he was doing the right thing since his deceased parents who died during the first outbreak of nanties would want him to use his powers for good. But he wonders if this may be a good opportunity for him to start living a normal teenage life. Making matters worse he gets put on a seemingly boring mission to follow an advertising company that goes to underdeveloped towns that promises to give the people better lives. Worse yet he gets placed with his long-time partner Kenwyn Jones to go to one of the Caribbean Islands where this is taking place. The two had never really gotten along but he accepts the mission anyway to what at first glance may seem like a vacation to paradise to him. But when the locals start to lock their doors and windows at the sound of an ice cream truck and others who go out are never seen again may be a sign that his job is just not finished. That is if he's up to the task of being an everyday hero ATTENTION- I do not own Rex or any of Man Of Action properties/ past plots mentioned/ characters. Friends and family turn on one another, losing control of their own minds and bodies. The Unaltered aren't safe. Even if the virus isn't attacking them, the ones with the virus are.
