Anne and Meg are sisters, but it isn't obvious. Meg (short for Megumi) was adopted from Japan when she was still an infant, where Anne was the biological daughter of their parents. Even though they grew up thick as thieves, Meg's transition to college and into a new group of people that look more like her puts a heavy strain on their relationship. One year later, between shifting social circles, surviving classes, and pent-up bitterness, the two need to figure out how to bridge the ever-growing gap between them.
