A retelling of the myth of Hades and Persephone -- For as long as Persephone can remember it has always been her and her mother. Until one day, a stranger appears, causing her to have unfamiliar feelings-her world changes when her mother persuades her to go to the Underworld with him. In a place much different than the sheltered one she is used to, she will learn things about herself that were unknown even to her. Will she learn to embrace them or shy away from them altogether? The God & The Shadow
"Jealous?" "Why would I be?" "Because I know your fantasies." He argued. I leaned closer to him, smelling his overwhelming scent. "And I'm appalled at how they are just that. Fantasies." He smiled and leaned closer, piercing through my eyes with the blue of his. I wanted to grab the dagger beneath my pillow and kill him already. "Are you now?" He answered, coming dangerously close to me. He brought his hand up to lift my chin, our noses touching. Gods, help me. I want nothing to do with this man. I really don't. He hates me, and I hate him. Our banter is not just banter; there's always a sense of truth in between, and that's what makes it all the more addicting. - THE GOD is the master of death and darkness. Lore, previously known as Hades, rarely ever visited the mortal realm. As the gods get involved in a war against the rebellious uprising amongst the dark angels, he must work together with a group of immortals, a ruthless and serpentine assassin being one of them. THE SHADOW is a half-breed. Left destitute at seven and made a killer eleven years later, she leaves destruction and death wherever she walks the mortal realm. Forced into a team unit as punishment for her insolent behavior, she must work with the god she grew to admire and learned to hate. Alliances built on lies and hatred are inevitable to fall. The man on the throne abruptly stood up, his dark black eyes shining with an untammed flame, one that turned everything into embers. It was obvious that this powerful man did not like those who spoke back, espeically a small human girl like the one in front of him. The human girl felt the anger radiate off the man and started to run towards the entrance she came from, only to suddenly feel arms wrap around her waist, crushing her against a very solid chest. She opened her mouth to yell, but a strong hand covered her mouth. "You are a fiesty little girl." It was evident that the man was smirking in his voice; he was enjoying her fear. "Now, I do not want to punish you so early. So please, be the good girl that you are and be quiet. Not that screaming will do you any good; you are in the Underworld, after all." --- It had been five years after the death of her older sister before nineteen year old Katherine Bakers could even sleep peacefully at night. She had witnessed her own sisters murder, leaving scars beyond compare. She withdrew from her family and became a quiet recluse. But old nightmares come to life when she is knocked out and is taken by a stranger. Only this stranger is a god: Hades, God of the Underworld. Hades is a very dangerous man who rules the Underworld with an iron fist with no immorse for punishments of the wicked. He has a stone-cold heart that feels like ice, as no one has been able unthaw his frozen heart. And he is slowly losing time. The Tale of Hades & Persephone
This is a rewrite of my previous fan fiction "Tales of Hades and Persephone" as well as some inspiration from the original myth (and perhaps other retellings I enjoy). Hades has been alone for far too long. One day he pays a visit to Zeus and requests to marry Persephone. The King of the Gods agrees and even recommends Hades kidnap Persephone, since it's unlikely Demeter will agree to the marriage. Persephone is a young Goddess of Earth curious about the world of the mortals. She's always helping her mother Demeter, but one day while watching the mortals she wanders off only to fun into a handsome stranger. After a brief conversation, Persephone finds herself swept away to the Underworld. Will Hades manage to get Persephone to fall in love with him? What will Demeter do when she discovers her daughter is missing and it's all Zeus' fault? Will the mortals be able to survive the wrath of the Gods?Complete
