*Preview* "Hey, Dakoda?" Marc stopped me. I turned back to him. "Yea?" "Promise me something." His words paused any thoughts of wanting to just heading home now so I didn't get into more trouble, causing my heart to skip. He wanted me to promise him something? "Depends." Marc's head tilted, his eyes were frowning again, something he seemed to do often. He didn't seem to like my response. Maybe he was hoping for an 'abso-friggen-lutely!' He wasn't going to get it from me. "Promise me, that the next time someone hurts you, you'll tell me." I felt my lips twist into a rueful scowl and I shook my head. "Well, that's something I can't promise." I whispered, taking a step down the driveway. Marc's eyes glinted in irritation. "Why not?" He growled. I took a deep breath, set down my skateboard back on the ground, and was poised to kick off. "I don't like to lie to people I don't want to hurt."
