12 unsolved murders. The murderer has been dubbed "The Grin" in honor of the medieval style torture they employ on their victims, one of these being the reason for their nickname: they give every victim of theirs the Glasgow Grin. A boy who fits the criteria for one of the killer's potential targets is whisked away into police custody, and a plan to bring out the killer results in the boy's disappearance, and a rush to find the killer before it's too late.
But what if the boy doesn't want to be saved?
