Khalia was born into a life of squalor. Her parents saw her as nothing but a nuisance, but they tolerated her because she brought in the welfare checks. From the time she was a little girl it was her against the world.
She grew into a bitter, self-hating person who hid her pain behind the false bravado of the typical hoodrat.
As much as she wanted to make something of herself she fell pregnant at the age of 17. That mistake gave her a whole new purpose in life.
