The second time her lips met mine, it sunk in, that he was the one kissing me. My best friend kissed me and I kissed back passionately. Even though my heart took up a faster pace with that realization I can't say that it was a Hollywood kiss. There were no trumpets, no fireworks.
All I could remember was the softness of her lips, the caress of her on my upper lip with her tongue darting out ever so gently now and then. She kissed me the third and fourth time and though I learned how to move my lips in perfect synch with her, there was no bang, there was no boom.
There were kisses everywhere. There were ones where she buried her face into my chest, there were stole ones behind the stairs. But they were mixed passionate ones where we both would lie in a tangle of limbs, neither of us knowing where the other began and ended, the only sound in the room was heartbeats and deep breathing. There were kisses on the cheeks, there were kissed on the forehead, kisses on the hands and kisses on the stomach. But none of these came with the feeling the author describes in books.

Nixon is the 3rd book in the Broken Series. (Ryan is the 1st, Brynn is the 2nd)
Nixon leaves rehab early because he can't deal with being there anymore. His sister Kelis finds someone in need of a roommate so he moves in with the girl and gives her his middle name, Lucas. He quickly becomes addicted to the girl and once he gets one taste he's done for. He warns her about his past, about his name, but she ignores all the red flags, not realizing exactly how intertwined she is with the people from his past. He becomes enamored with her, feels like she was made for him while still battling the demons of his past and soon it all becomes too much for him to handle. He makes a heartbreaking decision, thinking it's what's best for both of them and everything changes.
