In modern day Hyrule, Link is an orphan who lives in an orphanage. Because he is meant to be the Hero of Hyrule, his bunkmates get jealous and bully him for it. When Link enters first grade, he befriends Zelda, the most beautiful girl in Hyrule, and eventually falls in love with her. The two become inseparable, but everything changes when Zelda hits puberty; she vanishes and doesn't show up at school. Link tries to contact and find her, but no luck. 
Five years later, Link is a 16-year-old man with severe depression and a Hero chosen by the Master Rifle. He is still in love with Zelda and thinks about her every second of his life. One day, Link saves a woman from the Yiga clan members, and that woman turns out to be Zelda. She tells him about where she has been for the past five years, and once Link finds out the truth, he dedicates his days to helping Zelda feel safe and happy again away from her selfish, rich father Rhoam and her forced fiance, Ganondorf. While Link and Zelda try to save themselves from the abuse, an evil prince from another country declares war on Hyrule in hopes of annexing the kingdom, and Link must go to war, leaving Zelda. Will he come back alive or die in the war?

Accidentally blessed with the Triforce of Wisdom, he acknowledges the Gerudo's hard work and thrives to make his village a better place for everyone. Link, still possessing the Triforce of Courage, has been assigned to be Zelda's personal bodyguard and do something horribly wrong to please her majesty, which he does not partake in ever doing. Fate brings Link and Ganondorf face to face. Somehow, Link and Ganondorf team up and secretly plot against the princess to stop her vile plans to make Hyrule miserable. Link has defeated Ganondorf and Hyrule has once again recaptured its' reign of peace and prosperity. Or has it? Mayhem has returned to the land of Hyrule as news sweeps the nation that the Hero of Time must be wed! The royal family will hold a competition/ball, and all are welcome to enter. However, our hero Link has only eyes for one girl... and that's you dear reader! (For the sake of the story we are going to pretend Zelda does not send Link back to the child timeline.) This is a Link x Reader romance and my first time writing something of this genre. There will be a PG-13 ending AND an NC-17 one. With a fiery moon threatening to swallow Hyrule whole, it is up to Y/N to solve the mystery of the fallacy known as 'Termina.' Was the Hero of Time telling the truth? And does the current hero of the calamity and Queen Zelda's appointed knight have any insight? As the archaic fights against the modern, both in society and heart, you learn the hero you need has always been in front of your own eyes. Not within the pages of your history book.
