Life isn't fair.

You don't have to serve me up that little platitude with a side of fries and a flat soda.

I had a great career and a bright future ahead of me but unfortunately nothing lasts forever. 

In hindsight, it probably wasn't a good idea to send my boss' dic pics to the entire company directory as I was being escorted out of the building carrying the remains of my professional life inside a cardboard box that the copier paper came in. 

I didn't expect for people to share it online and I sure as hell didn't expect it to go so viral that I'd been forced to move home with my parents after not being able to get another job in my field. 

If you had asked me where I saw myself in ten years, I surely wouldn't tell you that I'd be working the night shift at Harvey's with a perpetually moody girl, a moonlighting teacher, and a crazy boss that makes Peter Pan look like a responsible adult. 

One day, I can put all of this behind me and go back to my old life...

2015 rolled in with a bang, and it did not have the grace to gift me with a social life that everyone in a one hundred year radius would be jealous of or that is even just the talk of the town. We're all growing up (except Dad who will still make inappropriate jokes at every inappropriate moment, some to do with what cannot be done when you're wearing a plaster cast) and holidays are being planned though some are less holiday and more a mad dash to find somewhere to live out in the big wide world without our parents.
