The idea of this story has hit me square to the face when I watched one of my favorite novellas on television.

Leslie Garcia has been a sweet little 9 year old girl and then her world is crushed when she finds out she suddenly has cancer. Everyone is worried and they are doing the best she can but just doesn't want it. Finally, a chance to see her dad again. She hasn't really been scared of death though sometimes it frightens her with curiosity about after life. 

Alex, her best friend, have known each other for a long time and he feels very protective over her like taking care of her, checking in on times, and keeping her away from the idiots at school who keep calling her names.

Ashley, Leslie's older sister, has been crushed by the news and does not know what to do anymore. She is the one left taking care of Leslie but all she can do is cry and try not to let her think of death or any of that sort.Tous Droits Réservés

Harper Thompson is a 18 year old that has been through hell and back. She lives with her mom, has one friend, loves reading , the outdoors/space and she is also in remission from cancer. Now that she is in remission she gets her life back and that includes going back to high school which was her worst nightmare before cancer. But then a run in with a certain actor flips her world upside down. Parker Edwards is a 18 year old that is living the life. He is famous, most demanded young actor, and has girls throw themselves at him. Now he is getting ready to shoot his least movie and he thinks that his only problem is going to be girls chasing after him but then a certain book reading girl knocks into him and everything changes. IMPORTANT: This story talks about cancer and I want to make clear the I am not a doctor. The things I wrote about cancer might not actually be true but I had to write it so the story would make sense.

Death. That wasn't a word the family of five would use. It started to become a normal word for the Wingtips when their beautiful mother gets cancer. This mother had 3 boys who all had different personalities, the oldest Ezra who is 16 and has freckles all over his nose and long blue hair, he never likes to talk but will when is comfortable and he is really close to his mother. The middle son who is 12, Ebba is told he is strong like animals he has platinum blond hair like his father and will hurt anyone who hurts him, his friends and brothers. The youngest of the sons is Ash who is 6 he is full of joy and would give anyone a hug and would do anything to make his family happy. But after Ezra 16th birthday things go downhill when his mother gets sick and dies his dad has to return to the FBI to help catch the second generation of criminals, Ezra has a close call to Death twice and they get sent to a boarding school. Will the Wingtips go throw hell or will they remain a happy family.

The disease destroys the body from the inside, causing organs to burst, poisons bloodstreams, shuts down vital organs, causes the bones to crystallize and in severe cases, welcomes in the other diseases. The only way to fight such a disease is through the power of will. Only the will to survive can best the disease, causing it to slowly go away as the body fights back. As the victim wants to survive and fights the disease, the better chance they have. But, everyone who has caught the disease gives up hope, and dies a slow and brutal death. This disease is known as Stigma X, or STX. Meet Ashley Reynolds, an 18 year-old girl, who is a senior in high school. Ashley comes from a family who grants her nothing but misery, and hates her very existence. When Ashley caught the disease at the end of her freshman year, the rejoicing coming from Ashley's family caused her heart to falter, and soon found herself welcoming death.
