After Loki and Thor leave Earth, Loki is put on trial in Asgard for his crimes against the human race. When he is sentenced to life imprisonment he decides to escape from Asgard to pursue his throne. His plans are put on hold by the arrival of Sigrun, a powerful Asgardian with a strange past. When she is placed in the cell next to him, Loki sees her as a temporary distraction. It isn't until he begins to see his ideals and desires change that he realizes what she truly is to him. When Asgard is threatened with destruction from an ancient enemy Loki fears for Sigrun's safety, and realizes that he has a choice to make. As all hell breaks loose and the Kingdom that he coveted so much crumbles around him, will he make the right choice? Or will he choose to send the Nine Realms reeling into chaos, death and destruction?
