It's the summer of 1943.  13 year old Helen is just finishing up school.  The US has been involved in WWII for just a little under a year, and Helen's father left as soon as a request went out for enlistment. A woman named Sandy discovers love letters in her mother's closet from an unknown man she soon discovers is her father who she was told had been killed in the Battle of the Bulge. She decides to try and find him fifty years later. The next story is about her mother and father and their life during WWII when he becomes a tank commander and she becomes a welder in a defense plant. His tank is destroyed in the Battle of the Bulge, but he escapes, wounded, and is hidden by a Belgian farm family behind enemy lines and is nursed back to health by their young daughter who he falls in love with. After being rescued by the Allies, he is mistaken for a German spy and imprisoned until he can prove his true identity. In the meantime, his young wife receives a telegram that he had been killed. When he is finally released, he comes back to the States only to discover his wife has remarried, so he decides to head back to Belgium to find his true love. Sandy eventually discovers her father's location and travels to Belgium for a heartwarming, but tenuous homecoming with a man who never knew he even had a daughter since Helen had become pregnant right before he left for Belgium.

Rose lives in a world where there are only kids (Well under 20) and right before there 20th birthday they get taken away, no one knows what happens to them but the all suspect that there dead. Rose is 19, meaning she doesn't have long before it her turn. Everyone gets their blood drawn daily, but no one knows why. The only a adults are the Helpers (the doctors) as Rose likes to call them and Them but Rose doesn't ever know if they're human. When she gets assigned to a doctor she starts asking questions; questions that will hurt the people she cares about.

She lost her house, she lost her family and all that she had left was herself. One day, at 16 years old, when she was walking down the street, she suddenly heard gunshots and all hell broke loose in front of her eyes. She was shocked, she didn't know what to do, since she thought that the war was over. However, one guy that was also part of the military, saw her. He looked around her age, and when he saw her standing there without moving, he saved her. This is the story about young love. About the girl who lost everything and about a guy who all he ever wants is for her to have a life again.

This story is about loss and forgiveness of a young girl who's life was cut short by bad decisions that lead to her future forever being unnatural. It's 1945, WWII has been ravaging the world for the last six years and Maria Amelia Theresa Holmes, a minor British Royal has been evacuated to Lisbon by her brother who has joined the RAF (Royal Air Force). In Lisbon, she ends up getting pulled into an espionage ring, after overhearing various characters talking about the capture of her brother. She is enveloped into a mission to rescue him and the enigma codes formula. But she soon discovers that not all is as she thought. Not everyone is who they say.
